How to make chocolate cake
Here is a simple recipe for making chocolate cake:
Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups granulated sugar
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup hot water
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together until well combined.
In a separate bowl, combine the buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Whisk until well combined.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
Add the hot water to the batter and mix until well combined. The batter will be thin.
Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean.
Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before removing them from the pans and placing them on a wire rack to cool completely.
